Volunteers week

As part of the King’s Coronation, ‘The Big Help’ was a themed event in the 8th May bank holiday, to encourage people to volunteer that may not have considered it before.

The aim was to create a lasting legacy of volunteering, particularly at a time when the impact of covid and the cost-of-living crisis has caused a drop in the number of volunteers across the UK. This itself, has highlighted the important role of volunteers for these voluntary organisations, from trustees to volunteers delivering essential services that impact people lives locally.

Volunteers Week takes place 1-7 June every year. It's a chance to recognise the fantastic contribution volunteers make to our Wiltshire Community and say thank you.

Volunteers are always active at the heart of every UK community. So, taking the time during Volunteers Week to celebrate and recognise their efforts and all they contribute to our local communities, the voluntary sector and society have never been more important.

Every year hundreds of events, both online and in–person, take place to celebrate Volunteers Week and the huge range of ways in which volunteers give their time. This year will be no different.

A wide variety of activities will be happening across the country from volunteer recruitment events and open days to celebration and recognition events.

We are looking forward to you joining us for Volunteers’ Week 2023 to recognise the huge role volunteers play in our communities.

See this video for inspiration and to celebrate Wiltshire’s fantastic volunteers.

    What will we reject?

Wiltshire Together is not a business directory for commercial organisations, as we would then need to charge advertising rates (which we don’t). We will approve relevant activities added by non-profits.

How quickly will we approve activities?

We aim to approve activities within 2 working days. Our admins do not work Fridays, so activities posted on a Thursday may not be reviewed until Monday.

Would you like to save your progress?

Note: Saving as a draft means your activity will be available for you to edit in your dashboard.

Selecting delete marks your activity as deleted in your dashboard.
